Highlights

Pin important Sessions

You can now pin Sessions to the top of the sidebar, making it easier to keep frequently used or long-running work within quick reach.

More reliable downloads

Downloads for runtime environments and resource files have been substantially improved with:

  • Resume support for interrupted downloads
  • Real-time download speed display
  • Automatic retry after temporary network failures

These enhancements provide a much more stable experience under unreliable network conditions.

One-click error reporting

A Report error button on failed runs captures the failure for quick reporting instead of leaving a dead end.

Isolated Claude Subscription connection

You can now connect your Claude subscription using claude setup-token. Credentials are securely encrypted and stored in Open Science's dedicated configuration directory, ensuring they are managed independently without affecting your existing Claude configuration.

New application branding

Open Science now ships with a refreshed pixel-style application icon, together with updated branding assets across macOS, Windows, Linux, and the application interface.

Improvements

  • Restored Cmd/Ctrl zoom shortcuts on desktop, including Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Actual Size.
  • Refined failure reporting logic so the Report error option only appears for genuine unexpected errors.
  • Completed migration from the legacy Local Claude provider to the new Claude Subscription connection.
  • Improved Codex MCP permission handling by tightening authorization scope and preventing permission leakage across Sessions.
  • Enhanced ACP reconnection logic to avoid creating Sessions on invalid connections.
  • Improved Agent Skill discovery and invocation for more reliable parsing and execution.
  • Increased stability of the AI Review workflow, including task execution, result publishing, and reviewer assignment.
  • Unified installer naming across all platforms with the aipoch- filename prefix.
  • Fixed Linux .deb architecture detection and further improved cross-platform packaging.

Upgrade Notes

The legacy Local Claude provider has been removed in v0.6.1.

Any previously saved Local Claude configuration will be removed during the upgrade. If you want to continue using Claude Subscription, reconnect by running:

claude setup-token
